THRIVE. PROSPER. PERSEVERE.

I’ve dedicated my career to challenging the human body to meet its potential. I ask the body to trust, correct, and engage itself so that the person who lives within can be free. Free of pain, free of obstruction, free of compensation. I help people do this by challenging the norms and by teaching them how to Reconnect with their bodies.  Our bodies want to move freely without pain.  We just need to connect and move in ways that support the body’s innate capacity to heal itself.  That is what I give to each client.  I help them come back to finding joy and trust in their bodies

HOW A NEW MOVEMENT PHILOSOPHY IS BORN

Many years ago, I was living the quintessential California lifestyle: mountain biking, surfing, and playing beach volleyball were activities I participated in weekly.  And then one day, they were all off the table…

I was trail running up in the mountains where on the descent I unknowingly stepped into a hole completely jarring my body

That may have been ok, but I was alone and I was at the top. Given my background, I knew I still had adrenaline on my side. So I hustled down the hill and made it to my car before my body started to seize up.

For the next few weeks my only choice was to lie in bed. I couldn’t stand up straight and even walking the ten feet to the bathroom was a major challenge.

After a few weeks, things weren’t getting better, so I decided to seek help.

  1. First I went to my doctor and was given pain medication
  2. Then I was sent for an X-Ray that came back negative
  3. Next the doc sent me to six weeks of Physical Therapy

It was in PT that I really believed I was on the road to recovery. Slowly my pain started to ease up. But, after six weeks, I still wasn’t able to move the way that I had before my injury.

My back was still temperamental and my stride was impaired.

Initially I thought I needed more time, but after a few second opinions and more time in PT, my problems started to carry into other areas of my body and I was in MORE pain.

I started asking everyone around me:

“Have you ever felt this? How did you fix it?”

“Have you ever felt this?”
“How did you fix it?”

I was desperate for an alternative but everyone gave me the same answers:

  1. Continue with pain meds
  2. Continue with PT
  3. And the hardest pill for a young guy to swallow – modify my lifestyle…

I was so frustrated and scared that this one wrong move would influence the rest of my life.

Eventually, depression started to work its way into my life: I was stuck in bed, feeling defeated and shut down.

I couldn’t accept that modifying my lifestyle was THE ONLY answer because that meant giving up the things I loved.

Fortunately, I still had a job to do –  and it forced me into a gym every morning:

It was there that I started to observe the divide between natural movements and the ways I was being taught to heal my body.

That small shift was the missing key to getting my old life back:

I threw out all the methods that promised me health and gave me pain

I started exploring this new philosophy

Within ten days time, I was back to my old self

This one shift in perspective liberated me and allowed me to get back to myself. For the past 25 years I’ve helped thousands of people get out of pain by teaching them to move with my KALM Method.

There is no reason to live in pain. If you want to embrace a new movement philosophy and finally get back to living an active life without pain follow the button below to get started.
